"Therapy is a marvelous partnering in which the individual (whether alone or with a partner or family member) brings a unique understanding of self, world, troubles to the therapist who carries the ability to listen carefully and join in on moving their interactions to a new plane of understanding and action. This can be painful, enlightening, joyful, sad; the result is growth and change.”

Treatment Approaches:

As the therapist listens to the psyche tell it's story, interventions present themselves, permitting the utilization of what seems most appropriate. Intervention possibilities include: simple reflection and observation; education and insight work; gestalt; cognitive-behavioral  approaches; trauma work; problem-solving techniques, exercises and homework; bibliotherapy; etc. All take place in a safe setting and are intended to match what is needed at particular times in the therapeutic work.
